Ottawa plays host in July 2007 to two premier chess events:

 

 

  • the Canadian Youth Chess Championship, July 3-6, 2007. As the premier chess event for Canadian boys and girls, the tournament attracts top competitors up to the age of 18 from across the country. They compete in their age categories for the right to represent Canada at the World Youth Chess Championship.
